LAUNCH AND ONLINE EXHIBITION
MAY 7 - on instagram and facebook
We have very exciting news!
The beautifully designed second issue of SPREAD MAG. is finally being launched on the 7th of May! Not the way we originally intended in Kunstruimte Crooswijk, but via our social media channels.
Being in this lockdown, baking banana bread, binge-watching series, and starting new hobbies – we need access to art more than ever. That is why on the 7th of May we want to celebrate the launch of the second issue of SPREAD MAG. The participating artists all made work corresponding to our theme ‘DISGUISE’. Just like our last edition, each participant is featured on a separate spread that functions as an accessible art print. In times where you cannot visit exhibitions like you’re used to, SPREAD MAG. has the exhibition visit you in the safeness and comfort of your own home. After all, the primary goal of our magazine is to spread art in every way possible.
Together with the published artists, we programmed a day-long event that you can follow online on Instagram and Facebook. All artists will show a selection of their artworks.
We hope to create an online dialogue between you and those who made this project happen. The timetable will be revealed shortly. As soon as we’re launched you can purchase the magazine from our webshop.
The participating artists for the second edition of SPREAD MAG. are:
Anton Albitsky (ES), Tharim Cornelisse (NL), Lara Emilie Bongard (NL), Swaeny Nina Kersaan (NL), Charlotte Brand (NL), Katinka Zonneveld (NL), Matthieu Reijnoudt (NL), Roxy van Bemmel (NL) and Hanneke Klaver (NL). Textual support comes from Samuel du Chatinier (NL), Jake Caleb (UK) and Sarah Klevan (NL).
So, mark the 7th of May in your schedules and let’s have a very loungy party!
Hello, can you see me? I'm covered in layers, concealed behind masks. I'm wearing censorship like a warm wintercoat. I am make-believe and illusion and yet so honest at the same time. I'm cloaked into beauty, hidden to be found. I know I'm a bit secret, but that's how you like me. I will tickle your curiosity, will you peek behind my veil?
